The slowed and reverb generator plays your track slower, the way a record does at the wrong speed, so tempo and pitch drop together, then washes it in reverb and rolls off the highs. At the default 0.8x, a 120 BPM song becomes 96 BPM and sits about 4 semitones lower; at 0.5x it is a full octave down. The reverb is a synthetic 2-second room mixed with the dry sound, and it adds 2 seconds of tail to the end of the file so the last note fades out instead of ending abruptly.

Each dial has a range and a starting value; change one, press Apply, and listen.

Speed moves in 0.05 steps from a 0.8x start. Pitch follows speed: 0.9x is about 2 semitones lower, 0.75x is 5 lower.

Every 0.05x step changes the pitch by a known amount, so 0.8x is always about 4 semitones down.
Reverb adds 2 seconds to the end, so the slowed and reverb version does not cut off mid-echo.

Six ways people put the slowed and reverb generator to work.

Slow a song to 0.85x for a moody clip, then trim the WAV in your editor.

Run a finished mashup MP3 through the slowed and reverb generator at 0.8x for a slowed cut of the same mix.

Set 0.75x and a 1000 Hz low-pass for a softer copy of a favorite track.

Drop a loop in and hear it 4 to 5 semitones lower before you sample it in your DAW.

Build a slowed intro or outro and know its new BPM in advance.

Play a backing track at 0.9x to test a key about 2 semitones lower.
Files can be up to 80 MB and 5 minutes long on a computer, or 2 minutes on a phone.
Drop in an audio file you have the rights to use.
Keep 0.8x, 40% and 2000 Hz or move the dials, then press Apply.
Play the render, adjust if needed, then download the WAV.

A slowed and reverb generator lowers the speed of a track, which also lowers its pitch, then adds reverb so the sound feels larger and further away. This one also has a low-pass filter that softens the highs, the third part of the familiar slowed reverb sound.
Pitch drops by 12 times the base-2 log of the speed, in semitones. In practice: 0.95x is about 1 semitone lower, 0.9x about 2, 0.8x about 4, 0.75x exactly 5, 0.7x about 6, and 0.5x a full octave. Tempo falls by the same ratio, so 120 BPM at 0.8x is 96 BPM.
A common starting point is 0.8x speed, 40% reverb and a 2000 Hz low-pass, which is also what the tool uses by default. For a lighter touch try 0.9x, 20% and 4000 Hz; for a heavier, darker take try 0.7x, 60% and 1000 Hz. These are suggestions, so adjust by ear.
Not with the slowed and reverb generator. Speed and pitch are tied together on purpose, because that drop is what gives a slowed version its sound. If you need the original key at a lower tempo, this tool is the wrong fit.
Free, with no credits used and no account needed for the effect itself. Your file is decoded, processed and exported inside the browser and is never uploaded to a server.
MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC, AAC, M4A and WebM files up to 80 MB, up to 5 minutes on a computer or 2 minutes on a phone. It needs a file on your device; YouTube and other streaming links are not supported. The result downloads as a 16-bit WAV.
Yes. Download your MP3 from the mashup maker, open it in the slowed and reverb generator, and apply the settings you want. Keep in mind that slowing a song changes its BPM, so a slowed track may no longer pair with another song inside the 12% tempo gap the mashup maker accepts.
The original song still belongs to its rights holders. An edit made with the slowed and reverb generator is for personal listening unless you have permission, and platforms can mute or remove posted edits over copyright. Process only audio you own or are allowed to use.
